Since it emerged on Friday, the clip has been dissected, gif-ed, tweeted about, and generally adored by millions of people the world over.
Earlier today, the family behind the interview spoke out about their sudden viral fame for the first time.
Wall Street Journal Wall Street Journal
In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, political science professor Robert E Kelly admitted the BBC clip was a “comedy of errors” from start to finish.
He says his wife Kim Jung-A was watching the interview in the living room with their children - his daughter Marion wandered off to find her dad after recognising where he was, and baby James quickly followed suit on his walker.

Kelly had, unfortunately, forgotten to lock the door of the study:
After that, there was no turning back, as hard as his wife tried to manage the situation.

Kelly said he was initially afraid he’d never be asked on TV again, then surprised by the warm reaction to the clip:
“I made this minor mistake that turned my family into YouTube stars. It’s pretty ridiculous.”
So cute. All hail the queen.
